1. Introduction

Freestyle Lacrosse LLC (“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates FreestyleLax, a software-as-a-service platform for lacrosse coaches, players, and parents. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information.

2. Information We Collect

Information You Provide

  • Account info: Name, email address, and password
  • Phone number: Required for parents, optional for others
  • Profile info: Avatar, handle, jersey number, position, graduation year
  • Training data: Session logs, drill completions, goals, fitness plans
  • Team data: Roster, assignments, playbook, scouting reports, feed posts
  • Game data: Live scores, statistics, play-by-play commentary
  • Messages and images: Team channels, tournament channels, and direct messages
  • Tournament info: Locations, addresses, RSVPs, carpool details (zip code, seat availability)
  • Emergency contacts: Contact name, phone, relationship, allergies, and medications (entered by parents)
  • Dues and attendance: Payment status and attendance records
  • Video uploads: Film clips submitted for coach review or AI analysis
  • Payment info: Processed by Stripe — we never store your card numbers

Information Collected Automatically

  • Device push notification tokens (iOS/Android)
  • Device type and platform
  • IP address (for security and abuse prevention)
  • AI generation counts (for enforcing daily usage limits)

3. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

FreestyleLax is used by lacrosse teams that may include players under 18, including players under 13.

  • Under 13: We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent. Parents must create and manage accounts for players under 13.
  • Ages 13–17: Players may create their own accounts with parental knowledge and consent. Parents can link to their player's account via the parent dashboard.
  • Data collected from minors: Name, jersey number, position, graduation year, training logs, stats, messages within team channels, and profile photo (optional). We do not collect phone numbers, payment information, or location data from minors.

Parental rights: Parents may review, correct, or delete their child's personal information at any time by contacting support@freestylelax.ai with the subject line “COPPA Request.”

4. How We Use Your Information

  • Provide and operate the FreestyleLax platform
  • Process payments and manage subscriptions
  • Send push notifications and emails about team activity (scores, assignments, messages)
  • Power AI features: practice plans, scouting reports, drill generation, film analysis, photo OCR
  • Enable tournament coordination (RSVP, carpool, volunteering, weather forecasts)
  • Provide emergency contact access to coaches during team activities
  • Display live game scoreboards
  • Improve and develop the Service
  • Prevent fraud and abuse

5. AI Data Practices

When you use AI features, we send relevant context (sport, skill level, focus areas, uploaded photos/video) to Anthropic's Claude API for processing.

We do NOT send to AI: Your name, email, phone number, emergency contacts, medical information, private messages, or payment information.

Data retention: Anthropic does not use API inputs/outputs to train their models. We log AI generation counts (not content) for usage limit enforcement.

6. How We Share Your Information

Within Your Team

  • Coaches can see: player names, jersey numbers, training activity, stats, parent contacts, and emergency contacts
  • Players can see: teammate names, team feed, shared playbooks, and scouting reports
  • Parents can see: announcements, tournament info, dues status, and their linked player's profile
  • Direct messages are visible only to participants

Public Information

Live game scoreboards are publicly accessible. Game scores and events are visible to anyone with the scoreboard URL. No personal information is displayed on public scoreboards.

Service Providers

  • Stripe: Email, subscription tier (payment processing)
  • Supabase: All application data (database hosting, auth, file storage)
  • Anthropic: AI generation prompts, no PII (AI content generation)
  • Resend: Email address, notification content (email delivery)
  • Apple APNs / Google FCM: Device token, notification payload (push notifications)
  • OpenWeatherMap: Tournament city/location (weather forecasts)

We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information with third parties for their direct marketing purposes.

7. Data Storage and Security

  • Data stored on Supabase (hosted on AWS) with Row Level Security policies
  • All data transmitted via HTTPS/TLS encryption
  • Passwords hashed via Supabase Auth (bcrypt)
  • Emergency contacts restricted to coaches via database-level policies
  • File uploads validated for type and size
  • Payment information handled entirely by Stripe — never touches our servers

8. Your Rights

  • Access: Request a copy of your personal data in a machine-readable format
  • Correction: Update your profile information anytime in the app
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your account and all associated data
  • Notification control: Customize push and email preferences per category in settings
  • Data portability: Export your calendar data via .ics export

9. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion, and opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information.

10. Cookies and Tracking

We use authentication cookies/tokens (required for login) and local storage (caching preferences for performance). We do not use third-party advertising cookies, cross-site tracking pixels, or analytics cookies that track individual users across sites.

11. Camera and Photo Library

The app requests camera and photo library access only when you choose to upload content (avatars, film clips, stat sheet photos, message images). We do not access your camera or photos without your explicit action.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notification at least 14 days before they take effect.
